Walter Peake is a founding principal of the firm and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He specializes in medical-malpractice defense and the representation of healthcare professionals in licensing, Board and privileges matters, as well as other healthcare matters. He also handles assisted living, long-term care neglect cases and products liability cases.

As an attorney, Walter Peake defends physicians of many specialties and other healthcare providers in medical-malpractice cases throughout southwestern and central Virginia in state and federal courts.  Walt has tried over 60 medical-malpractice cases to jury verdict, and has tried over 75 jury trials of all kinds. He also handles appellate work and has three reported cases in the Virginia Supreme Court.

He is a frequent speaker to healthcare professionals and medical-malpractice insurance carriers about the defense of medical negligence cases and other related topics.

Additionally, Walter has an administrative practice before professional licensing and regulatory boards, including the representation of health care professionals in disciplinary hearings. He advises healthcare providers on health care issues involving patient confidentiality, medical records, peer review, risk management and coverage under professional liability policies.
